Don passed away on June 9, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona. Don was born on October 25, 1957 in Waco, Texas to Ancelyn and Donald J. Smith. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1979 with a degree in Political Science. While at Texas A&M, he was active in Student Government. He loved Texas A&M, and was actively involved in intramural athletics, and all aspects of student life. Following his graduation from A&M, Don entered the workforce; and prior to his death, worked for Markel insurance Company in Tucson, Arizona as an Executive Underwriter. He is survived by his mother, Ancelyn Godwin, brothers Kevin, Hunt and Chris, daughters Alexis and Courtney, son Donald Joseph Smith III (Trey) and granddaughter Katelyn. He was a good friend to many, and is sorely missed by all who knew him.
