1928-2018
Born March 2, 1928 in Cuero, Texas to Edward Elmo and Agnes Moses Murray.
Faburn went to school in Nixon, Texas then moved to El Campo, Texas where he graduated high school in 1946. He then enrolled at Texas A&M where he graduated with a BS in Business Administration in 1950 and was commissioned in the Armored Calvary.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dalinda Foltyn Murray, son Drew Murray and wife Barbara, stepson Cody Strnadel, stepdaughter Mendi Strnadel, eight grandchildren, Elizabeth and Chris Bradley, Matt and Katie Murray, Kimberly and Mike Stockton, Kathryn
and Adrian Longoria, Laura and Will Wendtland, Christopher and Christine Murray, Meredith and Matt Cannon, and Colton Strnadel along with fourteen great grandchildren and brother Edward Elmo Murray, Jr.
Faburn spent 40 years in the rice industry retiring in 1990.
He held memberships in the Texas A&M Century Club, George Bush Library, 12th Man Foundation, Corps of Cadets Guidon, Raveneaux Country Club, El Campo Lions Club and Knife and Fork Club in Bay City. For the past 42 years he was an active member of Champion Forest
Baptist Church.
His hobbies were golf, reading, crossword puzzles, raising and sharing tomatoes, playing cards (especially bourre and bridge), supporting and following the Aggies, and always studying the Bible.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Douglas Murray, daughter, Diane Murray McKelvy, and first wife, Gloria Wiginton Murray.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 am at Champion Forest Baptist Church Chapel – Champions Campus located at 15555 Stuebner Airline Road, Houston, TX 77069
