Howard Erwin Lancaster III, born March 10, 1959 to Howard and Betty Lancaster of San Antonio, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2018. Howard was much loved by his family and friends. With a warm heart and quick wit, he found a way to connect with the people who were fortunate to know him. Howard had an innate gift of bringing a smile to anyone he met. He will be missed by many, especially by his brothers, Scott and John, who loved him very much.
San Antonio was Howard's home for nearly his entire life, graduating from Alamo Heights HS in 1977 and then from Texas A&M. He went on to become a loan officer with NBC bank.
His family had a ranch in Bandera where Howard spent much time during his early years. Friday Mountain Camp was an annual reprise. Later he returned as a counselor for many summers. In his young professional life, his favorite recreation was scuba diving in Cozumel with his friends. Throughout his life, Howard had a great love of music.
In the later years of his parents' lives, Howard dedicated much of his time assuring they could continue to live an independent and productive life until their passing in 2013.
Howard is survived by his brothers, Scott and John, sisters-in-law, Mary and Liz, and his cherished nephew, Flynn.
Howard will be honored at a memorial service Saturday, August 25 at 5:15-7pm, at The Barn Door. Family and friends are invited to attend (casual attire). Per Howard's request, his ashes will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.
