Marila Ann Dollahite Palmer
LONGVIEW — Marila Ann Dollahite Palmer, age 65, went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 28, 2018. She devoted her life to Jesus Christ, her family and friends, and her work in education. After graduating from Hallsville High School and Stephen F. Austin
University, she taught high school English at Whitehouse, Hallsville, and Pine Tree. A life-long learner, she continued her own education, obtaining her master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin University and her doctorate from Dallas Baptist University while
working full-time. She held administrative leadership positions at LeTourneau University, East Texas Baptist University, and Texas A&M Commerce. She contributed countless hours to other colleges and universities through the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools, volunteering as a member of accreditation review teams and as a speaker at accreditation conferences. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hallsville. She was a mentor, inspiration, and shining example to her family, friends, colleagues,
and students throughout her life. She fought the good fight, she finished the race, and she kept the faith.
