John "Big Daddy" Curry(1936 - 2017)
Tahoka- John Dwayne Curry, 81, of Tahoka passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Tahoka. He was born on March 10, 1936 in Lubbock to Dewey and Elnora (Dulaney) Curry. He attended Tahoka Schools and Texas A&M College. John married DaOnne Vickers on August
30, 1958 at the First Baptist Church of Tahoka, where he was a member. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, DaOnne; daughter, Denise Curry Deuvall; sons, Alan Curry, Greg Curry and wife Wendy and John Curry and wife Tammy; brothers, Wiley Curry and wife Kay, and Mike Curry and wife Joveta; sisters, Margie Freeman and
Suzy Scopel and husband Allen; grandchildren, Chrissy Tecut and husband Kenny, Blane Curry, Kasey Grein and husband Josh, Kate Joseph and husband Scott, Kelsea Deuvall, Kelly Deuvall, Coleman, Mason, Neeley, Chantz, Ethan, and Peyton Curry; great-grandchildren,
C.J., Walter, Kylie, Emily, and Macey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Molly, and great-grandson Cade Joseph.
Celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Tahoka.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to Hospice of Lubbock or the .
