Resided in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico at the time of his passing.
Survivors: wife of 52 years, Susi; 4 children: Karen, Susanna, Richard, and Laura; and grandchildren.
Chip wanted his classmates to remember him by his modified version of General MacArthur's well-known words, "Old family and old friends never die, let them just fade away."
