Norman James Brown GRAPEVINE--Norman J. Brown, 93, of Grapevine, Texas passed away Monday, June 4, 2018. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friends and family are welcome to attend the memorial service, officiated by Jeff Burnett, from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 20, at
First Baptist Hurst, 1801 Norwood Drive, Hurst, Texas, 76054. Norman was born in Providence, R.I., in 1924, but spent his formative years and most of his adult life in San Antonio. He was a veteran of World War II, a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, and earned
commendations by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for superior performance in the field of Value Engineering. Norman was a man of integrity. He loved and frequently shared his values of God and country. He loved music, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School,
and was an active participant in Bible Study Fellowship. He cherished his wife, Norma Jean, married for 65 years. Norman was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He was very active in the lives
of his five children, 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren to whom he would frequently proclaim the most important objective of life is "to glorify God." SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean; his sons, Paul, Kelly, and Matthew; daughters,
Suzanne Laney and Virginia Manzo; and brother, Leroy Brown.
