Meredith Loy Ward
JUNE 17, 1936 – FEBRUARY 2, 2018

Meredith Loy Ward, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 2, 2018 in Everett, Washington.
He was born in Bremen Township, Minnesota on June 17, 1936 to Paul and Lydia (McMillan) Ward. A high school dropout, he joined the Air Force at 17 and promptly resumed his education, earning his Doctorate in Education shortly after retiring from the Air Force as a Chief Master Sargent 26 years later.

Early in his military career, he was stationed in Germany where he met and married his life-long love, Elisabeth Schommer, and they shared the next 61 years together.

Meredith worked in Human Resources Development and Education the rest of his life. His favorite job was his last one – teaching and mentoring University of Phoenix doctoral students.

Meredith’s greatest legacy was in how well he loved his family and friends and shared his 50+ year love for his Lord. His favorite saying was, “In Him I live, and move, and have my being.” He is predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Metzler.

He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth; son, Michael; daughter-in-love, Kathleen; and sister, Betty Nelson. He is the proud Opa to 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held at Cascade Community Church, 14377 Fryelands Blvd. SE, Monroe WA 98272 on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Meredith’s name to The Ridge Community Church, Benevolence and Care Fund, Redmond, Washington.
