LTC. (Ret.) Ron Wain English
July 23, 1944 - May 9, 2018

Funeral services for LTC Ronald Wain English (Retired), 73, of Nolanville will be held at the Belton Church of Christ, 10:00 AM, Friday, May 18, 2018, with Steven English officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville.



The Family will receive friends for visitation 6-8 PM Thursday evening at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.



Mr. English passed from this life, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in a Temple Hospital.



Ron English was born July 23, 1944 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Nelson English and Winnie Marie (Barton) English. Soon after his birth, the family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where he graduated from W.B. Ray High School. Ron went on to Texas A&M University, were he met his sweetheart, married, and graduated class of ’66. He married Carolyn Elaine Necessary June 27, 1964 in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his loving Wife of nearly 54 years, Carolyn English. Also survived by Son Steven English and his beloved wife Vicki English of Nolanville, Daughter, Kathy Grace of Harker Heights, Son John Biehn and wife Becky of Pflugerville, 5 Grandchildren; Chance English of Burleson, Alexis English of Maypearl, Kristin Jeffers and husband Alex of Seguine, Kelsie Biehn of Lubbock, Duane Charles and wife Michelle of Maypearl, and great Grandson Justin Charles of Maypearl. Ron is survived by two living Brothers, Don English and wife June of Medenales, New Mexico and James English and wife Michelle of Houston and his loving Sister-in-law Kelly English of Canadian, Texas.

Col. English served in the U. S. Army for more than 21 years. He served in combat in Vietnam, Airborne Infantry, was a logistics and supply officer, retiring as Lt Colonel from III Corp Headquarters, Ft. Hood. Early in his military career, Ron returned back to Texas A&M University, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration class of ’72. After retirement, He taught at Central Texas College, while attending the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, earning his teacher’s certification. Mr. English then began a 17 year long career (1990-2008) teaching his students at Killeen High School, which brought him great joy.

Ron English is known as a family, a community man, and a servant. He was a Mason, a member and officer on the board of directors of both, the Belton Farmers Co-op. and the Heart of Texas Retriever Club. He has served on the board of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Assoc. Ron and family were members of the Killeen Church of Christ for 30 + years, and a member and servant within the Belton Church of Christ the last 5 years.

Mr. English will be affectionately remembered for his love for people, love of country, Love for His Family, and most importantly for his Love for God. He enjoyed the great outdoors, ranching, hunting, fishing, and helping other people enjoy what God had Blessed Him with, Great blessings. He will be missed in many circles throughout the community.



Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association.
