Davis Bottom, 86, of Richmond, passed away April 28, 2018. He was preceded in death by his son, Earle M. Bottom. He is survived by his loving wife, Hildie; children, Cheryl B. McCartney and Carl D. Bottom (Debby); three grandchildren, Michael D. Bottom, Danielle B. Tubbs and Shawn R. McCartney (Megan); five great grandchildren; and brother, Skip Bottom (Susan). Davis was a 1953 graduate of Texas A&M University. He was the owner and president of UTECO, Inc. He was an United States Air Force Veteran and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Bottom was past president of the Bull & Bear Club, Richmond Country Club, the National Tobacco Festival and a former member of the Richmond Kiwanis Club. The family will receive friends 6 to 8p.m. Wednesday at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St., where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3 with interment to follow in Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church 903 Forest Ave. Henrico, Va. 23229.
