LINCOLN “LINK” MELVIN ABNEY, age 71 years, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
Beloved husband of Annette Holt Abney.
Father of Tanner, step father of Yvette Calvin(Peter Wingate), Stacey Babineaux, Elizabeth and David DeRose and wonderful surrogate father/grandfather to our departed grandson, Nicholas Ward Calvin.
Son of the late Lincoln Walter Abney and Luida Larue Abney. Brother of Tommy Abney, Frank Abney, the late Judy Fitzsimmons.
Also survived by grandchildren Ava Schneider DeRose, Christopher Nichols, Natalie Calvin, Holden Babineaux.
A native of Slidell.
Graduate of LSU (Fiji), Texas A & M and BSN from William Carey School of Nursing.
Linc was a Captain in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam and Desert Storm.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside Services with military honors, at Southeast La. Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Road, Slidell, LA on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 1:30 P.M.
A celebration of his life will follow at 803 Tops L Drive, Mandeville, La.l
