Grace Elise Wuthrich
April 27, 1964 - April 12, 2018

Grace Elise Wuthrich, 53, of Pierce, TX, passed away Thursday, 12 April, 2018. She was born 27 April, 1964 in Wharton, to Edward Emil and Geraldine Rae Wuthrich. She graduated high school in El Campo and went on to complete her Bachelor of Science degree at Texas A&M.

She is survived by her beloved family, son Karsten Falke and daughter Elsa Jopling, both of Pierce, her mother, Geraldine Wuthrich, sisters and brothers-in-law, Melissa and Robert Baker of Pierce, Carol and Kelly Teague of Bay City, Rachel and Tim Brown of Maypearl, and her 6 nephews and nieces, Robert and Laura Baker, Erin and William Teague, and Brantley and Ainsley Brown. Grace was preceded in death by her father, Edward Wuthrich.

Grace was a teacher at Bay City High School, instructing in Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy and Robotics.

Grace expressed her life-long love of horses through education and training of both the horses and their riders. She further demonstrated her talents through frequent horse showings and competitions in expos across the southwest. Throughout their childhoods, Grace fostered this same love and appreciation of animals and farm life in her children, nephews and nieces, teaching them about kindness towards and respect for the animals and their husbandry.

Throughout her teaching career in Boling, Calhoun, and Bay City, Grace found such a Godly purpose in her opportunity to influence the lives of numerous students, sharing her excitement for science and engineering disciplines, earning the respect of her peers and superiors as well as the love and admiration of her students.

Perhaps one of Grace’s greatest loves, however, was her church and the family and friends who filled her life there, and were so dear to her. As a member of Christ Lutheran Church in El Campo, Grace was an integral member of both the vocal and bell choirs, as well as accompanying worship services with her guitar. She sang each week, shoulder to shoulder with the very family and friends who, as one would have guessed, also held her so dear in their hearts.

Grace leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity and immense love for all those around her. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be at Triska Funeral Home in El Campo, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday, 20 April. A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, El Campo, starting at 10:00 AM, Saturday, 21 April. Interment will follow immediately at Garden of Memories Cemetery, El Campo.

Memorials and donations may be made in Grace’s honor, to the Christ Lutheran Music Department.
