Miss Tara L. McDowell passed away in Paris France on June 15, 2017. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 30, at Toliver Chapel Baptist Church: 1402 Elm St. Waco, Texas 76704. Houston service will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 29, at The Fort
Bend Church: 1900 Eldridge Rd. Sugar Land, Texas 77487.
She is survived by her parents, Gary Keith McDowell and Gilda Long McDowell; and brother, Gary Bronchae McDowell.

Let me introduce myself for those of you who don’t know me …I am Tara, Tara McDowell (a.k.a. Tweet)!! I burst into this world June 1, 1976 . I made my parents Gary Keith and Gilda McDowell have the biggest smiles ever! Even on this day being the first of two
children, when Bronshae and I walked into a room we would both have the biggest smiles ... right Bronshae? "
I professed my faith in Christ at a young age when I joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Waco, TX. Bow I am currently a member of the Fort Bend Church in Sugarland TX where I am a faithful member and servant of God
I am a very strong minded and respectful young lady when it comes to accomplishing what I want in life. My childhood education began at Lake Waco Elementary followed by G.W. Carver Sixth Grade Center
In May of 1994, I graduated from University High School. The Waco Independent School District and Mrs Baird’s Breed Scholarships afforded me the opportunity to continue my education at Texas A&M University, College Station, TX. I Obtained a Bachelor’s Degree
in accounting from Texas A&M in May 1999.
While attending Texas A&M University, I was initiated as a member into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Xi PSI Chapter on November 23, 1997. I later joined the Mu Kappa Omega Chapter in Missouri City, TX where I served as Chapter President and numerous
other offices and committee chairs. I was also honored to serve as the Southwest Texas Cluster Financial Secretary and on the International Financial Officers Certification Committee.
Since graduating from college, I worked for the State of California Franchise Tax Board in Houston, as an accountant, a Tax Accountant for Wal-Mart Bentonville, AR, and currently I am Tax Adviser for Shell Oil Company Houston, TX .
I was recently accepted into the Master’s of Business Administration program at the University of Texas at Tyler. I’m a voracious reader, a connoisseur of food, a fashionista and a world traveler with my last stop Paris, France…My Final Destination is Heaven!
I am still flying.
