April 9, 1977 - December 30, 2017
Paul Shamsher Singh of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Dallas. He was born April 9, 1977 in Akron, Ohio to Dildar and Surinder “Sue†(Kaur) Singh. After graduation, Paul had appointments to two service academies, Naval and Air Force. However, being an avid tennis player, he accepted a scholarship to Texas A&M University where he double majored in Biology and Chemistry and minored in Math. Upon graduation he had earned Foundation and University Honors. He went on to medical school at UT San Antonio and changed from General Surgery to OB/GYN. He went on John Peter Smith in Ft. Worth where he met his future wife, Lauren Orand.
Paul completed his residency in July of 2011 and began his Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at University of Missouri Kansas City, graduating in July of 2014. He was then offered a job at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He and Lauren married on December 7, 2012 in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Together they have traveled, and she has embraced him throughout the journey of him becoming a brilliant physician. Paul will best be known as someone who had compassion for helping others, giving generously of his time, and his servant heart.
In his free time, he enjoyed keeping his tennis skills intact. He was a member of the Lubbock Country Club and The Falls.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Lauren and their son, Hudson and mother, Sue Singh of San Angelo. Paul was preceded in death by his father.
The family will receive friends at a memorial visitation on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway.
