1928-2017
Andres Noe Cuellar, 89, passed away on December 26, 2017.
He was born on December 22, 1928 in Zapata, Texas to Emilia and Andres Cuellar. Andres’ childhood was spent in Zapata and Laredo. He graduated from Martin High School in 1946. He attended college at Texas A&M University in College Station where he received
a degree in Agronomy in 1954 and later obtained an MBA at the University of North Dakota when he was stationed at Grand Forks AFB. He was commissioned in the United States Air Force in 1955 and served for 21 years. He serve in the Vietnam War. He was a decorated
officer achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and retired from the Air Force in 1976. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Modern Machine Shop and Modern Construction for 32 years.
Andres married Aida Garcia in 1955, in Laredo. They were happily married with 5 sons, until she sadly passed away, in 1988. He later married Alma Oliva Fontes, in 1994. Andres was very involved in the community participating in many projects. He was a member
and officer of Rotary Club and Life Downs.
Andres was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Emila, his sister, Anita and his brothers, Lauro and Angel.
Andres is survived by his spouse, Alma; his sons, Andres (Collette) of Jacksonville, AR, Alberto (Lezlie) Cuellar of the Woodlands, TX, Arturo (Dee) Cuellar of Prior Lake, MN, Arnoldo Cuellar of Largo, FL and Alec (Gayle) Cuellar of San Antonio, TX; his brother
Ruben Cuellar of Hattiesburg, MS and Omar (Reiko) Cuellar of Laredo, Texas; his grandchildren Marty, Ashley, Krista, Trent, Cody, Erica, Gabriella, Conor, Christopher, Cameron, Zachary, Aidan and Josielynn; his great grandchildren Molly, Anya, Guilherme, Logan
and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Laredo at 10 a.m. on December 29, 2017.
