David Raymond
March 11, 1940 - December 28, 2017

[Francis] David Raymond, age 77 of Moran, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 4th at the First Christian Church with Pastor Brad D. McBee officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, January 4th at the First Christian Church.

Francis David Raymond was born on March 11, 1940 to parents, Francis “Jinx” Raymond and Mary Aileen Spence Raymond in Brownwood, Texas. David graduated from Texas A&M University with a Masters in Business Management. David served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1964-1968. David married the love of his life, Les Mills, on March 12, 1976. He worked for West Texas Utilities in Abilene, as a Director of Human Resources until his retirement. Upon retirement David and Les moved to their ranch in Stephens County where they enjoyed frequent family gatherings and traveling. David was a member of the First Christian Church and the Abilene Jaycees. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jinx and Aileen Raymond; and one brother, George Eberle.

David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Les Raymond; four children, Pam Zavidny and husband Dennis, Dudley Raymond and wife Bridget, Chris Dunkle and wife Angela, Beth Raymond and husband Tim Yorston; and ten grandchildren, Summerlee Zavidny, Savanna Zavidny, Heidi Raymond, Tucker Raymond, Brittney Raymond, Cooper Raymond, Jackson Dunkle, Rebecca Dunkle, Madelin Yorston, and Mary Yorston.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at www.morehartmortuary.net.
