Brian Douglas Harper

Brian Douglas Harper, age 62 of Upper Arlington, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Brian was born and raised in Lake Jackson, Texas, son of the late Bill and Emma Joyce Harper. He graduated from Texas AandM University where he received his undergraduate,
graduate and PhD. In 1984 Brian joined the faculty and staff at The Ohio State University where he remained as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering until retirement in April 2017. Brian was a humble, gentle and compassionate man who led his life with kindness
and empathy. He had an unwavering desire to explore and excel in not only his career but in all things he loved. He had a passion for teaching and enjoyed time spent mentoring and assisting the youth group at Crossing Community Church. Brian also had great
taste in music, enjoyed playing chess and golf, and loved attending and cheering on his daughter Allison while she competed with The Ohio State University Women's Golf Team. Even after death, Brian continues to teach others through his legacy and never forgotten
kindness. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 37 years, Seanne Harper; daughters, Dana and Allison Harper; siblings, Karyl (John) Hayre, Steve (Donna) Harper, Ruth Harper, and Eric (Davey) Harper; and many other extended family members and dear
friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Monday, December 11, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 1-4 P.M. Sunday and 10 A.M. Monday until time of service. Following service, family will
be traveling in procession to Schoedinger Midtown Chapel for cremation ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Youth Group at Crossing Community Church, 4770 Britton Parkway, Hilliard, Ohio 43026. To share memories or condolences,
