Linton T. Lipscomb
December 11, 1934 - November 30, 2017

Linton Thomas Lipscomb, 82, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Kirkwood Manor. He was born to Albert Lewis Lipscomb and Ellen Hall (Anderson) Lipscomb on December 11, 1934 in North Zulch, Texas.
Linton and his family moved from North Zulch to Big Spring, Texas when he was age five, and later moved to Houston where he grew up. He graduated from Milby High School in 1953, and then went on to attend Texas A&M, for a year and a half. During his adulthood he pipelined for a while and then in November of 1955 went to work for the Hughes Tool Co. in Houston where he met Denise Goebel, his future wife. They married on September 15, 1956. Several years later he returned to Texas A&M and graduated in 1963 after having four children, and expecting the fifth. He worked very hard and many long hours to achieve his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Education. He was proud of having barely missed by just 1 grade point being named in Who's Who in American Colleges. He went on to become an industrial arts teacher, and afterward taught wood and metal shop in Austin Texas for a year, then for four years in Lake Jackson Texas. He later returned to working in industry to better support his family. He worked for Dow Chemical in Freeport Texas in the 1960's as a safety and training supervisor. He worked in Training and Safety in the Chemical and natural Gas industry in Louisiana and Texas until retiring from Valero in San Antonio in 1999. A real Patriot, Linton was in the US Army Reserves from November 20, 1956 to December 11, 1991, retiring as Sergeant Major E-9.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise Lipscomb; daughter, Lynda Stack Lipscomb of Navasota, TX; son, David Linton Lipscomb and wife Terrie of Bryan, TX; daughter, Susan Martone and husband Darren of Port Vincent, LA; daughter, Carole Lipscomb of Greenwell Springs, LA; son, Danny Lipscomb of New Braunfels; 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; twin brother, Jack Lipscomb and wife Nancy of Sugarland; 2 nephews, 2 nieces, 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marye Alice Oliver;
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 4, 2017 at New Braunfels Church of Christ with Mr. Mic Biesbor officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX.
