Henry Prochazka
October 8, 1928 - November 26, 2017

Henry Prochazka, 89, of New Braunfels Texas, passed to his heavenly reward on November 26th, 2017 surrounded by family members. He was born October 8, 1928 to Rosie and Leopold Prochazka in Little York, Texas. As a child of six born to a farmer, Henry often had to negotiate between school, work and farm chores. It was a skill that served him well throughout his life.

Henry attended Crosby High School and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1953 with a degree in Poultry Science. He joined the United States Air Force and served in Japan as an air traffic controller until 1956. Returning to Crosby, Henry began a successful career in poultry sales and consulting that eventually spanned 60 years, several corporations and private clients, and a nationwide customer base.

Henry is survived by his wife of 60 years Jean Prochazka and their children, Sandy Nolte (Melvin) of New Braunfels, Kim Muschalek (Tom) of New Braunfels, and Hart Prochazka of Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Chad Nolte of New Braunfels, Christopher Muschalek of Buda, and Rachael Muschalek of Houston.

Henry was the most devoted family man anyone could wish for. He enjoyed life to the fullest at every opportunity. Whether it was travel to Europe, cheering on Texas Aggie Football (with children or grandchildren), water skiing on Canyon Lake, or snow skiing above Lake Tahoe, Henry planned, supported and led the charge. He was devoted to his community, volunteering as an usher for the Brauntex Theater and giving his resources, time, and support to his church and other community organizations.

A private memorial service for family members is planned.

In short, Henry never met a stranger, only people he needed to find out more about. Quick with a kind word or a good wish for others, his love for his fellow man was evident from the initial meeting. He will be missed.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hope Hospice in New Braunfels, Texas.
