Harold Wellbaum, III
February 16, 1947 - November 16, 2017

Harold went to his rest on Thursday morning, November 16th, 2017, after battling cancer fiercely for four years. Services will be 10:00 am, Monday, November 20, 2017 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Harold lived life just as fiercely, loving friends and family passionately. He never met a stranger and loved to tell stories, as anyone who met him can attest. He had many pursuits that he dedicated his life to from stamp and coin collecting, acting and singing, candle making, sailing, and carpentry. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M (Class of ‘69 WHOOP!) and supported Aggie Football from his favorite recliner for years. He LOVED to hear Aggie jokes with his usual response being “What do you call an Aggie four years after graduation?” “BOSS!”

He moved to Waco in 1986 to work as a Sales Manager for Dealers Electrical Supply, and proudly worked on electrical lighting projects like the Ferrell Center. His ready wit and steady advice will be missed but treasured by all who knew him.

Left to cherish Harold’s memory are his beloved wife, Kay of Woodway; Sons, Michael of Fort Worth and David and wife, Janell, of Hewitt; mother, Lucienne of Waco; MaryEllen Wellbaum; grandchildren, Patrick, Nicholas, Gregory, Benjamin, Brenna, and Brooklynne; and his furry girlfriend, Suzie Q.

The family is grateful for the skill and compassion of both the UT Southwestern Cancer Center staff and the Providence staff who walked with us on this journey.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Kidney Cancer Coalition-Dallas at BeatKC.org or Fuzzy Friends of Waco
