July 4, 1940 - October 31, 2017

Raymond W. Stanford, Jr., 77, of Banning, Ca. passed away on Oct. 31. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond & Johnnie Mae Stanford of Bryan, Texas. Ray is survived by: his son, Ray Stanford, III, of Vilas, NC; sisters; Ann Dempsey of St. Simons Island, GA and Mary Lou Stanford of Dallas; his wife, Cheryl Stanford of Banning, CA; stepson, Luke and stepdaughter Traci & numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray was born July 4, 1940 in Bryan and graduated from SFA High School, class of '58. He received two B.S. degrees from Texas A&M University, was a member of the TAMU Rodeo Club, Poultry Judging Team, Corps of Cadets & a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band under leadership of Col. E.V. Adams.

Following graduation, Ray established T&S Trailers, distributors for Hanover Gooseneck Trailers and worked as loan officer at First National Bank. Summers he worked with his dad at Kazmeier Hatchery in Bryan. The majority of Ray's career was in the commercial egg industry as regional sales manager with Hy-Line International, Ohio, Iowa, Colorado, California and New England; consultant with Chilson Mgmt., Rancho Cucamongo, CA.; Mgr., Kentucky Fried Chicken, Steamboat Springs, CO.; Feathercrest Farms, Kurten, Texas.

Ray loved his Lord, his friends and family. His interests included horses, the mountains, camping, traveling, the American Southwest, painting, writing and Native American history. Ray requested that he be cremated and there will be a private memorial service.
