Longtime resident of Moore County, Edward Mehl Stallwitz, 84, passed away in his home on Friday, November 10, 2017.
The memorial service for Eddie Stallwitz will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Dumas with Tom Wylie, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N Maddox.
Eddie was born on October 11, 1933 in Dumas. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1951. He received a degree in Agriculture Economics from Texas A&M in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army.
He married Mae Carolyn Husbands on August 15, 1959. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Marie Stallwitz.
Eddie had farmed in Moore County his entire life. He had served as a deacon and elder at First Presbyterian Church. He was a longtime member of the Dumas Noon Lions Club and had served as a past director at the Dumas Co-Op, the Federal Land Bank, the Moore
County Farm Bureau, and the Palo Duro River Authority for many years.
He is survived by two sons, Darren Stallwitz and wife Dana of Dumas, Kurt Stallwitz and wife Judy of Amarillo;six grandchildren, Ben Stallwitz and wife Jessica of Amarillo, Garrett Stallwitz and wife Madison of Dumas, Marshall Stallwitz of Amarillo, Crysta
Riseling and husband Craig of Dumas, Odie Stallwitz Woods of Amarillo, and Cameron Stallwitz Woods of Amarillo; and three great grandchildren, James and Fynlee Stallwitz of Amarillo, and Poppy Stallwitz of Dumas.
There will be a visitation at the Moore County Art Center on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
