Thurmond Edward Munson
Thurmond Edward “Eddie” Munson died on Wednesday, October 18, with his sister by his side. Eddie was born on August 28, 1955, in Fort Devens, MA, to Thurmond and Doris Munson. He graduated from Brazoswood High School in 1973, and then went on to earn an Associates
degree from Brazosport College. After taking a break from the books, Eddie returned to school and became the loudest and proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2001, earning his BS in Engineering Technology.
Family will receive friends at Stroud Funeral Home, Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 4-6 PM.
Graveside Funeral services will be 11:00 AM at Munson Cemetery, Monday, October 23, 2017.
There will a barbecue reception on the grounds of the cemetery directly following the service. The family suggest casual attire be worn.
Eddie inherited the artistic talent of his mother, Doris. He was a gifted photographer and clever cartoonist. Eddie’s love of family, the Methodist church, and pride in being an Aggie marked his life daily.
Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Munson, aunt Mary Jane Munson Hirsch, aunt Ada Davidson Jimmerson, and first cousin Robert Jeffrey Hirsch. He is survived by his father and brother, Thurmond Armour Munson Jr., and David Munson of Lake Jackson,
sister Ann Munson of Houston, brother Tom and sister-in-law Jamie Munson of Brownwood, nephew Matt and wife Ashley Munson of Fort Worth, nephew Chris and wife Claire Munson of Dallas, and niece Courtney Munson of Dallas.
His family mourns his departure, but rejoices in knowing that Eddie is no longer in pain. He has been set free from the suffering he endured at the end of his earthly life. They look forward to being reunited with Eddie in glory.
The family wishes to extend its thanks to all of those who cared for Eddie and helped him persevere to the end.
In lieu of flowers please give donations to First United Methodist Church in Lake Jackson.
