On August 10, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer, our beloved Lana Medina found peace and comfort through her adoration in her Lord Jesus Christ. Yolanda "Lana" Raquel Medina was born on March 18, 1970, in Bryan, Texas, and was preceded in death by
her father, Thomas Pedro Medina. She is survived by her mother, Rachel Medina, brothers Arthur and wife Rachel Medina, Richard and wife Laurie Medina, Roland and wife Lisa Medina, loving sister Linda Medina, Lana's devoted partner Scott Clement and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Lana received her Bachelors of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University and a Graduate Finance Certificate from SMU Cox School of Business. With more than 23 years of combined experience in retail and hospitality design and development of senior living
retirement communities, Lana was recently employed as Development Manager for Caddis Healthcare Real Estate. Prior to joining Caddis in 2013, Lana was Senior Development Manager for Greystone Communities managing and overseeing construction of 2.3 million
square feet of independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing facilities and managing over $500 million in project budgets. Additionally employed by Lend Lease, Lana was Zoning Manager, managing jurisdictions for zoning and building permits
for the 7-Eleven Corporation, as well as Architectural Project Manager designing interior architecture for hospitality chains including Marriott, Hilton and Interstate Hotels.
Like a prism of light, Lana touched many with her love, compassion and joy of life. Lana always had a smile for her family and multitude of friends and is remembered lovingly for the joy she brought to everyone's life.
Funeral Services for Lana will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, and followed with a Celebration of Life at 3 PM at The Family Center at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas.
