Aileen YAGER
YAGER, Aileen Marshall Aileen Marshall Seawell Yager completed her race on July 27, 2017 after a nearly eight year battle against ovarian cancer. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Great Hills Baptist Church, 10500 Jollyville Road, Austin, Texas at 11:00 am. The family will be available to visit with friends and family at a potluck luncheon following the service. Please wear an outfit that reminds you of Aileen (e.g. Christmas-themed, track, school shirts, bright colors, etc) Aileen was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on December 17, 1962. She grew up in Richmond, Virginia and Aledo, Texas and later attended Texas A&M University. After graduation, she married the love of her life, David, and moved to Austin, Texas. Aileen loved the Lord and was continually in awe of the amazing world He created. She loved to see the beauty of nature, whether swimming with stingrays, watching a hummingbird, viewing a wonderful sunrise, or simply walking along noticing flowers. She loved to travel and explore and did so whenever she could. She shared her awe with others, helping them see so many beautiful things that they may have otherwise missed. Aileen loved her family fiercely. She cheered her daughters, Joyce and Amanda, on at marching band contests, science fair, art, soccer games, and track meets as they grew up and always encouraged them to pursue their dreams. She had a true servant's heart. She was always there to volunteer at Davis, Murchison, and Anderson, or ministries of her church, including being the driving force behind Angel Tree for many years. She also loved opening her home to entertain groups. Her family was frequently blessed by the many ways she supported their individual efforts. The years of fighting cancer took a toll on her body but her spirit seemed to soar in the midst of it. She will be greatly missed. Aileen was preceded in death by her brother, William Allen Seawell and her niece, Sarah Anne Yager. She is survived by her husband and partner in life of 31 years, David Yager of Austin, Texas; children, Joyce Yager of Los Angeles, California and Amanda Yager of San Marcos, Texas; parents, Jesse (JQ) and Brenda Seawell of Granbury, Texas; brother, Jesse and wife Sandy Seawell of Granbury, Texas; parents-in-law, H.M. and DeLane Yager of Cameron, Texas; brother-in-law, James and wife Cheryl Yager of Buda, Texas; niece Jennifer and husband Grant Buchanan of Houston, Texas; nephew, Jacob Seawell of Chicago, Illinois; niece Emily Yager of Austin, Texas; cousin, Joyce and husband Stephen Page of Stuart, Florida; cousin, Scott and wife Ann Taylor of Plano, Texas; great aunt, Sandell and husband Kirk Waite of Goodlettsville, Tennessee and many more cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends. Her family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to their family and friends for their love and support during this difficult times. You have eased our burden.
