Russ was living happily at Brookdale Assisted Living when he passed. He received his Bachelors degree in aeronautical engineering from Texas A&M University in 1945, after his interrupted education to serve in the US Army. He was a loving husband and father. At Fairview he served as a deacon, in the choir for 40 years, taught men's Sunday School, helped with youth ministry, was church historian and was on several search committees. Russ and Bernadine also served in the Texas mission field at Trinity Pines Baptist Encampment for several years after he retired.

Russ later moved his church membership to Central Baptist Church in Blooming Grove, TX in 2008, after moving in with his son and daughter-in-law to Medicine Creek Ranch in the Blooming Grove area.

Russ always provided all that the family needed and much more as does our Heavenly Father. He is home now in His loving arms.
