Eden

Marvin Earl Green, 70, died at his home in Eden on July 1, 2017. A celebration of his life is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Eden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Eden Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eden Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 9, 1946, to Elton Earl Green and Mary B. Winkler Green in San Angelo. He married Marlyn Kay Thorn on June 26, 1969. The couple recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

He graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1964 and from Texas A&M University in 1969.

Marvin was a creative fellow. He was an ag teacher, a welder, a mesquite pen maker and a wood crafter. He served as Concho County Constable for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; daughter Carey (Karl) Karvonen of Big Spring; brother Dr. Bill Green of Canyon; sister-in-law Becky Thorn of Taylor; and a niece Loretta (Dustin) Shirley and their son Dalton of Gonzales; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Paint Rock United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, West Texas Rehab or a charity of your choice.
