Lonnie "Dale" Rhodes

Lonnie "Dale" Rhodes, 83, passed away Saturday June 24, 2017 in Tyler, Texas. Dale was born June 1, 1934 to R. L. Rhodes and Mary Linnie Rhodes in Comanche, Texas. He grew up in and graduated from high school in Athens, Texas. He then went on to graduate from Texas A&M, where he served in the Corps of Cadets followed by a 20-year career in the U.S. Army. Upon his retirement from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, he returned to live in Athens.

Dale is survived by his 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Lonnie is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Rasco, and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harold Rhodes.
