Billy Joe Boyd passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21st 2017 in Denton, Texas. Born in Palacios, Texas on October 28, 1934. He grew up in nearby Port Lavaca, Texas.

He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1957 and then spent several years in the United States Army, where he flew fixed wing aircraft and helicopters and attained the rank of Captain.

He spent most of his career at Allstate Insurance working in underwriting and in sales and was a long time resident of Lewisville, Texas. He enjoyed attending Texas A&M football games, playing golf, and car shows. While he enjoyed many things, nothing brought him more joy than his two grandchildren.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Ginger, his son, Patrick Boyd and his wife, Kelli Boyd, his son, Robert Boyd and his wife, Colleen Boyd, and his grandchildren, Annabeth Boyd and Elliott Boyd.

He will be buried in a private family service at San Marcos City Cemetery in San Marcos, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Baylor Healthcare System Foundation for Cardiovascular Research (https://give.baylorhealth.com/ways-to-give/donate), or The American Heart Association (https://donatenow.heart.org/).
