Percy Conway O'Quinn, 93, of Midland, Texas passed away peacefully from this life to his Heavenly life on June 20, 2017.
Percy was born in Daisetta, Texas on September 5, 1923, to Wirt and Haggie O'Quinn. He graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School in 1941. He then went to earn a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University after serving as a pilot during WWII in the then Army Air Corp.
On December 4, 1942 he married Lillie Mae Floyd. They were married for 72 years until her death.
Percy worked as a Petroleum Engineer for several oil companies, the longest for Cabot Corporation and his last for Hilliard Oil and Gas. After retirement he worked briefly as a consultant for Gene Sledge Drilling.
Percy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by a son, Floyd O'Quinn; a daughter, Michele (Gary) Pitts; grandson Corey (Sally) Pitts; granddaughter Heilee O'Quinn and three great-granddaughters, Caitlin, Britain and Ashley Pitts.
His most precious gift in life were his faith and his family.
We will rejoice in his becoming a citizen of heaven on June 23 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Services will be held in the First Baptist Church Chapel in Midland, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Baptist Crisis Center or the Midland Soup Kitchen, or a charity of your choice.
