James Edward Breuer
June 13, 2017

James Edward Breuer, formerly of San Antonio, TX was born March 28, 1935 to Herman Martin Breuer and Edna Reimer Breuer in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Jim died on June 13, 2017 at age 82 at Legacy Memory Care Center in Denison, TX.



Jim graduated from Texas A&M with an officer’s commission in the US Army and a degree in ornamental horticulture. After attaining the rank of Captain, he left the service to earn a Master’s degree in education from Trinity University in San Antonio. Jim taught biology and marine science at Harlendale High School and Judson Senior High, both in San Antonio. He was a former Eagle Scout who loved mountain hiking. After retirement, Jim helped build 25 houses for Habitat for Humanity. He was also a church Elder who attended Crestholme Presbyterian Church in San Antonio.



Jim is preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph Breuer, nephew Carl Breuer, and brother-in-law Bill Fuller.



He is survived by sisters Dorothy Fuller of Canyon Lake, TX and Jean Chambers and husband Sutton of Sherman, TX; sister-in-law Sue Breuer; nieces and nephews Martin Breuer and wife D’Etta, Tom Breuer, Paula Breuer, Patricia Martin and husband Tom, Barbara Murphy and husband Michael, Billy and wife Gerri, Eric Chambers and wife Christina, Susan Hamilton and husband Aaron plus numerous great nieces and nephews.


Best friends include Mark Magavern, Steve Robichaud, and Irene Thomas of San Antonio and Linda Hopson of Sherman, TX. Other good friends are the caring members of Crestholme Presbyterian Church.



Service and burial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio on Friday, June 30, at 11:00 a.m.
