Gregory Scott Roden passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2017.
Gregg was born on August 7th, 1958 to Wanda and Kenneth Mac Roden.
Gregg was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After beginning his career with Exxon Mobil, Gregg returned to school and earned a law degree from the University of Texas. Gregg combined his education, technical experience and years of hard work to achieve a successful career in oil and gas as a mergers and acquisitions attorney.
Gregg was a man of high moral integrity and strong character. He dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the things he loved: spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren, planning new developments at his lake house, golfing, and supporting his beloved Texas Aggie Football team. Whoop! Gregg was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. In recent years, those close to him enjoyed getting to see his sweeter, playful side through his steadfast love for his grandchildren.
Gregg had a unique way of making all around him strive to do their best and constantly look to improve themselves. By a strong faith in his Lord and Savior, Gregg has set an example for us all.
Gregg is survived by his parents, Wanda and Ken Roden; wife, Barbara Roden; daughter Devon Choque and her husband, Adrian; daughter, Kayla Kirk; grandchildren, Faith and David Choque, brother, Gary Roden and wife Lisa, sister Lisa Gay Peraza and husband Oscar; brother, Douglas Roden and wife Jennifer, and many nieces and nephews.
Gregg was preceded in death by his mother in law and father in law, Marie and Duane Braun, and his beloved dog, Aggie.
A celebration of Gregg's life will be held on Thursday, June 8th, at 1:00 pm at 2nd Baptist Church of Houston, Woodway Campus.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, Texas 77840. Please designate the Wanda and Ken Roden Scholarship Fund. This fund was established by Gregg to honor his parents and assists young engineers in paying for college.
