Leslie Wayne Yarbrough(1941 - 2017)
January 4, 1941 - May 11, 2017
Leslie Wayne Yarbrough, age 76, of Helotes, Texas passed away on Thursday May 11, 2017. Les was born in Jourdanton, Texas to parents Hubert Leslie and Jessie L. Erwin Yarbrough. He had two siblings Carolyn Kay Farner (deceased) and John S. Yarbrough. He is survived by his wife Suzanne Shreve, son John Lynn Yarbrough, daughter Cathy Kay Scott, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is a graduate of Devine High School in Devine, TX. He earned both Bachelors of Science (1967) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (1971) degrees from Texas s A & M University. He was a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine. He served as a Medical Corpsman in the U. S. Navy and an officer in the U. S. Army Veterinary Corps. Upon retiring from the military Les was Director of the Dental School Vivarium at the University of Texas Houston HSC. He enjoyed many hobbies from bird watching to hiking and wood working.
