Colonel Roy D. Lemons, (Ret., USAF) passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Roy was born in Valley View, Texas on September 2, 1927. Roy began his military career in the United States Navy in the medical field. The majority of his military career was with
the Air Force. He served in Air Force Civil Engineering. His distinguished career included Program Manager of the New Generation Hospital which included many features now incorporated in today's hospitals. He concluded his military career serving as the Chief
of Staff for the Air Force Security Service. On retirement, Roy and his wife Julia moved to Hollywood Park, a small community on the North side of San Antonio. While a resident there, he served as Mayor of Hollywood Park from May 1996 to May 1998. In 2000,
Roy and Julia moved to Air Force Village II (now Blue Skies of Texas West). After retirement, Roy enjoyed hunting at his hunting lodge. He is predeceased by his wife Julia in 2003. He is survived by one son and three daughters. A Graveside Service will be
held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
