Eugene Albert Moeller

Eugene Albert Moeller, born February 4, 1930 in Comal County to Rubin Moeller and Hulda Kreusler, passed away on Wednesday in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 86.

He married Betty Lou Duelm on June 6, 1953 in New Braunfels. Together they raised three sons on the Moeller Ranch on Schoenthal Road.

Eugene was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the New Braunfels High School class of 1948 and attended Texas A&M.

He was an active supporter of the Comal County Junior Livestock Show Association and the Comal County Fair, serving in several positions over the years including president. He was a member of the Germania Farmer Verein at Anhalt and enjoyed planning festivals to celebrate his German-Texas heritage

Eugene never met a stranger. He loved 9-pin bowling, playing dominos, going dancing, drinking beer, making sausage, deer hunting and especially talking about the New Braunfels Unicorns and the Fighting Texas Aggie football teams.

Eugene is survived by his children Darrell and Dalene Moeller, Russell and Debby Moeller, and Kyle Moeller, all of New Braunfels; sister, Lorene Damerau of Marion; grandchildren, Regan Moeller, Blake and Heather Moeller, Ross and Sam Martin, Kullen and Casey Moeller, Clinton Moeller and fiancé Megan Boutin, Montana and Justin Bragg, Kyla and Darren Herzog, and Coker Moeller and fiancé Lauren Epperly; and great-grandchildren Maddisen Moeller, Stetson Moeller, Ellison Moeller, Ayden Martin, and Sutton Herzog; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou and sister, Vera Haecker.

The family wishes to invite all family members and friends to attend a Celebration of Gene’s life at the Freiheit country Store in New Braunfels at 2:00 pm on Monday the 14th. A brief ceremony will precede the celebration. Guests are welcome to bring side dishes and desserts. German style sausage will be provided and drinks will be available.

A private burial will be held at the Schumannsville Cemetery where he will come to his final resting place next to his beloved wife Betty Lou.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Schumannsville Cemetery Association.
