July 31, 1967 - April 8, 2017

Following a brief illness,Timothy William Davis "Tim" died unexpectedly in McKinney TX on April 8, 2017 at the age of 49.

Tim is survived by his wife of nearly 23 years Kathy Davis; children, Robert Alexander Davis & Alyssa Faithe Davis; parents, Robert and Peggy Davis of McKinney, TX; brother, Jim Davis and his wife Lori and their children Jordan, Hallie and Jaden of McKinney, TX; parents in law, Robert and Judy Avery of Cypress, TX; brother in law, Tim Avery, his wife Melissa, and their children Sarah and Allison; brother in law, Kurt Avery, his wife Holly, and their children Elizabeth, Hunter, Bryan, and William. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leroy and Dorothy Tharp and William "Bill" and Naoma Davis as well as his cousin, Christopher Crowder.

Tim was born on July 31, 1967 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Robert and Peggy Davis. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism. He married Kathy Avery, his one true love, on June 11, 1994. Tim parlayed his passion for music into a highly successful early career as a radio DJ "Ken Fusion", Program Manager and Operations Manager in College Station, Austin, and Houston for various alternative rock radio stations. The couple moved to the Detroit, Michigan area when Tim was recruited by an industry leading consulting firm, Jacobs Media. Tim further developed his career as a consultant to radio stations across the US and went on to become the first Director of Digital for his company as the radio world began its transition into alternative forms of media through the 1990's. Tim was widely respected as a true pioneer of the digital age in broadcast media. The couple welcomed two children, Robert Alexander "Xander" and Alyssa into their family during their time in the suburbs of Detroit. His children know him as a loving, hilarious, goofy, firm, and vibrant father who encouraged them to pursue their goals while offering them patient, loving counsel. He shared his love of animals, comic books, bad sci-fi movies, and music with his children. Later in his career, Tim and his family made a deliberate move back to Texas to be closer to the family he loved so much. In that transition, Tim began working for a major digital marketplace agency, RockFish, and continued to bring his vast talents in communications and digital strategy to major companies even beyond the broadcast world. In addition to his occupation with RockFish, he worked with Finney Media where he was able to combine his passions for music and religion with work.

Tim was accomplished at virtually everything he did. He was one of those people who knew a lot about a lot. He was known to be quick witted, direct, and often sarcastic with a heart of incredible love. Tim was passionate about his family and friends; giving his very best at everything he did for them. He had a thirst for knowledge and wisdom that lead him to delve into the deepest corners of faith, philosophy, art, and technology.
