Paul Lee
November 15, 1943 ~ January 5, 2017 (age 73)

Mr. Pojen (“Paul”) Lee, of River Vale, NJ, passed away on January 5, 2017 at the age of 73, surrounded by his devoted family.

Pojen was born in southern Taiwan and grew up as one of four children of a pair of school teachers. He earned his undergraduate degree from National Taiwan University in 1967. In 1969, he emigrated to the United States and studied at Texas A&M University, earning an MS in Accounting. He returned to Taiwan and married Chi-Suo (“Carol”), his wife of 44 years, in 1972. They first lived together in Brooklyn, NY, and soon thereafter settled in New Jersey to start a family. Pojen was a loyal employee of the New York Stock Exchange for 28 years, retiring as Tax Manager in 2003. He had been a resident of River Vale, NJ, since 1985.

Pojen is survived by his wife, Chi-Suo Lee; his daughter, Ellen Maurer (married to Michael Maurer); his son, Stephen Lee (married to Lora Napier); his amazing granddaughter, Iris Lee; and his sisters, Sophie Yu and Mrs. Huang. He is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother. He valued family above all, and cherished being able to spend time with his loved ones. He had a knack for fishing, flying kites and playing the harmonica.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service for Pojen on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood, NJ. A cremation of his body was performed on January 9, 2017. His ashes will be interred in May, 2017 during a public ceremony at Chuang Yen Monastery in Carmel, NY. The family is grateful for the condolences and asks that any donations can be made in Pojen Lee’s name to the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center in Phoenix, AZ. https://www.supportbarrow.org/MAPC
