Freddie Joseph Peterson Ph.D.
A longtime resident of Clinton, Freddie died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015. He was 84 years old and was retired Superintendent from LSU Idlewild Research Station with over 40 years of service as an Agronomist. He was a US Army veteran. Visiting will be at Charlet
Funeral Home, Inc. in Clinton on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 from noon until service time at 3pm. Burial will be in Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter. He is survived by his children, Patrick Peterson and wife, Lisa; Kathy Peterson Thomas and husband, Larry; and Matthew
Peterson and wife, April. Five grandchildren: Brian Noel Thomas, Ashley Elizabeth Thomas, Alix Hannah Dearing, Andrew Ivers Peterson and William Frye Peterson. Four great grandchildren: Brittany Noel Thomas, Jaice Dillon Thomas, Obie James Sanders and Lorelei
Layne Dearing. Sisters: Billie Richey and husband, Glynn, Midge Smith and Rita Peterson. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Eleanor Byrnes Peterson; his parents, Frans and Mittie Peterson; a sister, Edla Cole; and brother-in-law, Truman
Smith. Pallbearers will be Andrew Peterson, Brian Thomas, William Peterson, David O'Brien, Kurt O'Brien, Jason Dodgen, and Mike Dearing. He was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church and was an Eagle Scout. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude,
