Neill was an adventurer, explorer, and world traveler. His occupations included oceanographer, electrical engineer, crew chief in geophysical/seismic research in many countries of South America and Africa, business owner, inventor, photographer. Early in his career he became involved in Antarctic and Atlantic exploration and served aboard the Eltanin and the Arctic Seal ships in the early 1960s in conjunction with an international team of scientists for the National Science Foundation.

He was in the Core of Cadets at Texas A & M University, where he instructed other students in Scuba Diving, one of his favorite hobbies. His love of the world above and below the surface of the waters lead him to explore some the last uncharted places.

Neill was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Lamar and Kaden Broome, and Nathan Mays; Addisyn and Owen Broome; Madelyn, Alexis, and Cadence Lujan; Mathiaus and Jacob Mitchuson.

Preceded in death by Blanca Nubia Lujan Hitchcock and friends Bill Green and Conrad Keys.
