Dr. John Robert Vriesenga, D.V.M
December 14, 1934 – November 14, 2016
Robert of Boerne, Texas passed away unexpectedly while vacationing with the Traveling Aggies in the Galapagos Islands. He was born in San Antonio, Texas to John Henry Vriesenga and Therese Marie Bruenig. Robert attended Highland Park High School in Dallas.
He graduated from Texas A & M University in 1958 earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Post graduation, Robert served in the United States Air Force stationed in Japan providing care to the Sentry Dogs. Following his service, he moved back to Dallas
and established Forest Park Veterinary Hospital in 1961 maintaining his practice for 40 years. In retirement, Robert and his wife Regina "Regi" of 49 years, moved to Boerne. Robert continued to practice medicine as a volunteer lending his services to Hill
Country Animal League and Cibolo Creek Veterinary Hospital.
Robert loved traveling, fishing, hiking, hunting, gardening, nature and TAMU football.
He is predeceased by his wife Regi. He leaves behind his daughter Tracy and husband Joey, his son Craig and wife Mary and three grandchildren Ella, Carmen and Huck.
