Services for Dr. William Montie Dalton, lll, 66, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Pastor Chad Hardbarger. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 at Forest Park East, St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA.

Montie was born on August 21, 1950 in Bryan, TX to William Montie "Bill" and Wilma Joyce Boswell Dalton and passed away October 26, 2016 in Dallas, TX. In the fall of 1968 Montie enrolled at Texas A&M, where he developed many lifelong friendships and got infused with that good old Aggie Spirit. After three years at A&M he was accepted at Baylor College of Dentistry from which he graduated in September 1974. Montie set up his practice of General Dentistry in Shreveport/Bossier and practiced until March of 2008 when he was afflicted with Multiple Myeloma.

In January 1981 he married Vivian. He loved telling people that he married above himself. Vivian taught him so much about love, happiness and just becoming a better person.

Montie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Vivian Dalton of Shreveport, LA; son, John Wesley Howell and wife, Hilary of Ft. Thomas, KY; daughter, Kirby Dalton-Bray and husband, Justin of El Dorado, AR; brothers, George Mark Dalton and wife, Juli of Houston, TX, and Michael Scott Dalton and wife, Jamie of Russellville, AR; grandson, Kai Howell; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
