MARSHALL Dorothy Jacobs Rambo was born January 13, 1923, and was one of five children born to the late Leola Savannah Jacobs and Mason Patterson Jacobs of Marshall, Texas. Dorothy confessed Christ at an early age, and was baptized at the Galilee Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. She later became a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
She obtained her formal education from the Marshall Public School system, where she graduated from Pemberton High School. Dorothy continued her education at Bishop College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Education. She continued her education at Texas A&M University, where she received the Master of Education with a concentration in Agricultural Education in 1969.
Dorothy married her high school sweetheart Robert Bruce Rambo who preceded her in death on March 23, 1984. She and her husband were actively involved in the communities they served. Mrs. Rambo supported many political, civic and community activities.
She was preceded in death by: two infant sons, brothers, Harold Jacobs, Emmitt D. Jacobs, and sister, Almetta Herice Johns.
Mrs. Rambo leaves to mourn: one sister, Euradell B. Bayliss of Hayward, CA; three nieces, Dorothy Joyce Johns of Dallas, TX, Renae Mayers of Livermore, CA, Mirthell Bayliss Bazemore of Antioch, CA; one nephew, Odell Jordan, Jr. of Haywood, CA; and many other relative and friends.
Services will be held at Jerusalem Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Viewing will be today 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home. Please leave online condolences at www.peoplesfh.com.
