Charles Joseph Sanfilippo, Jr. was born in Mercedes, TX to Charlie and Nona Mae Sanfilippo on January 25, 1934. As he rested peacefully at home with his wife, Tina, by his side, he was called to join the Lord on September 24, 2016.

A product of the Rio Grande Valley, Charles attended high school in Harlingen playing varsity baseball and alto saxophone. He then attended Texas A&M University where he continued his love of music as a member of the Aggie Band. After graduation, Charles served in the US Army for two years, leaving the service at the rank of Sergeant. Being a man of many talents, Charles was a chicken farmer, cattle rancher, many positions within the insurance industry and real estate salesman. A man of faith, Charles was raised in the Methodist Church, teaching and serving. He never strayed from the Lord's reach.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his son Mark Sanfilippo and his grandson Tyler Doyle. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Tina Doyle Sanfilippo; his son, Michael and wife Pam; his stepchildren, Tim Doyle and wife Cathy; Theresa Turner and husband Patrick; Gary Doyle and wife Debra; Kevin Doyle and wife Miriam; and a whole passel of grandkids and great-grandkids too numerous to list!

Visitation services will held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Brookside Champions Funeral Home 3410 FM 1960 Rd West, Houston, TX 77068 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The service will be Thursday September 29, 2016 at 11:00am at Brookside Champions Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Charles to Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care, 1770 St. James Place, Ste. 330, Houston, TX 77056.
