January 30, 1930 - July 16, 2016

The BAG Corp family and Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container (FIBC) Community has lost one of its very own. Robert "Bob" Ray Williamson, entrepreneur, FIBC, industry pioneer, and believer of living life to its fullest passed away on July 16, 2016 at the age of 86 in Santa Fe, NM. He also made his residence in Bryan, TX.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Ellen Williamson; his first wife, Jean Price Williamson; and his daughter (Sally) Wendy Williamson. He is survived by his second wife Cleo of Bryan, TX; his brother and sister-in-law (Gerald & Bobby Williamson) of Granbury, TX; his nephews Ray Williamson of Florida and Gary Williamson of Virginia; his niece, Debbie Peede of Texas; and his daughter and son-in-law (Jodi and Mathew Simons), and grandchildren (Jett and India Simons) of Dallas, TX.

Bob was born January 30, 1930 in Wichita Falls, TX, grew up in Ft. Worth, TX, and lived most of his adult life in Dallas, TX. In his early years, Bob graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1947. He went on to graduate from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in 1951.

In 1969, Bob formed BAG Corp, and in doing so, became the pioneer of the North American FIBC industry. He was CEO until his retirement in 2011, where his legacy was passed on to his surviving daughter, Jodi Williamson Simons.

Bob was also a founding member of the FIBC Association, and member of the Diehard Texas A&M fan club. In 1991, he established two permanently endowed 12th Man Scholarships at Texas A & M University in memory of his daughter, Wendy Williamson; and in honor of his other daughter, Jodi Williamson Simons. A Camp Sweeney scholarship fund will be set up in Robert and Wendy Williamson's memory. Camp Sweeney is a residential camp with a 67-year old tradition of educating young children about diabetes in a caring, supportive and fun environment. Williamson, Robert Ray “Bob

January 30, 1930 - July 16, 2016

Bob passed away in Santa Fe, NM while on vacation there with his wife and friends. A Celebration of Life is planned for 5 p.m. Saturday, August 6, at their home in Bryan, Texas.

Bob was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ray and Ellen Williamson. As a small child they moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he was raised. He became a very proud Aggie, Class of 51, and received his degree in Animal Husbandry. After graduation, he moved to Casper, WY where he worked in the oil business for about ten years. While there, he became an avid skier which he continued to enjoy for many years. He moved to Dallas, Texas where he invented the Super Sack. He began his own company and was owner and CEO of SSBI/BAG CORP. With his company, he traveled all over the world for business and pleasure. His favorite pleasure trips were with the Traveling Aggies.

Bob and Cleo moved to Bryan/College Station a year ago to be more involved with Texas A&M and fellow Aggies.

His beloved daughter, Wendy Williamson class of '85, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Cleo Payne Williamson; brother, Gerald Williamson and wife Bobbie; daughter, Jodi Simons and husband Matt; grandson, Jett Simons; and grand-daughter, India Simons.

Gifts of remembrance may be made to the A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, TX 77840-2811 for the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets General Scholarship Fund or The Diabetes Foundation in memory of Wendy Williamson.
