Michael Robert Raftery, 30, of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 23, 2016.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18223 Point Lookout Dr., Nassau Bay, TX 77058. The service will run from 2pm – 4pm.
Michael was born in Tacoma, Washington on January 14, 1986. He moved to Houston, Texas with his family in 1995. He graduated from Clear Creek High School in League City, TX, and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas.
Michael worked at NASA as an International Space Station (ISS) Program Risk Management Integrator for the ARES Corporation for five years. He enjoyed playing his guitar, working out, golf, and most of all, being around his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his parents Michael and Susan Raftery, of Montgomery, TX, his sister Alicia Marie Raftery, of Los Alamos, NM, maternal grandmother, M. Norma Bichsel, of Conroe, TX, paternal grandparents Dr. Michael and Ruth Raftery, of Port Huron, MI, 8 aunts and uncles, 28 cousins and many friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Bichsel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Cenikor Foundation, you can donate online at www.cenikor.org or send to The Cenikor Foundation, (attn: Nora Belcher) 11111 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079. Donations will be earmarked to their treatment facility in Deer Park, TX. The family of Michael Robert Raftery thank you for your blessings and thoughtful donations.
