Bobby Gene Martin
August 28, 1930 - December 15, 2011
Bobby Gene “Bob” Martin, 81, of Cameron died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Cameron with Rev. Jim Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Family visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. Until 4:00 p.m. At the funeral home.
Bob, a life long educator, was born August 28, 1930 in Blum to William Edgar and Nora (Duncum) Martin. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. He married Gloria Perrine in 1951 and she preceded him in death in 2001. Bob taught school in Rockdale and served as principal in Cameron before retiring. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include:
sons Billy Martin & wife Barbara of Cameron
David Martin & wife Debbie of Grapeland
brother Nelson Martin of Blum
sister Mary Lou Rogers of Rio Vista
4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
