Walter Neblett Brown 'Brownie'
1914-2016
Walter Neblett Brown, 'Brownie', age 101, died July 6, 2016. Brownie was born 7/31/1914 in Big Spring, Texas, to William Neblett Brown and Gladys Orenbaun Brown. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1939 with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Mission Manufacturing and TRW in Houston for 44 years before retiring in 1980. He spent 2 years in Northern Ireland in the mid-1950's building a manufacturing plant for oil field equipment. He was a lifetime member of the American Society of Metals. He married Martha Frances Finch at First Methodist Church in 1943, and had 2 children, Pamela born in 1949 and Boyd born in 1951. He was a member of the Adelphi Class at First Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children, Pamela B. Durio and Boyd N. Brown, his grandson, Matthew Boyd Durio, and his 2 great-grandchildren, Tristin Jean and Frank Walter Durio.
