Peter Raymond Locke took the hand of the Lord on Friday June 10, 2016.

Service: 11 am Friday at Great Commission Baptist Church, 7700 McCart Ave 76133. The family will receive friends and guests from 10 am until 11 am prior to service.

Peter was born to Dorothy and William Locke Jr. in Alameda, CA on December 17, 1953. Peter received a BA in 1983 from the University of Oregon, with a double major in economics and mathematics. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with membership in Phi Beta Kappa. In 1987 he received his PhD from Texas A&M University in economics. From February 1989 until 1999 he served in the capacity of economist with the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where he was tasked with policy analysis, performing academic research, and litigation support. Concurrently, from 1991 to 1999 he was an adjunct professor in the MBA program at the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. In 1999 he began as an Associate Professor at George Washington University and was promoted to full professor in 2005. In 2006 Peter joined the finance dept. at the M.J. Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University. At TCU he taught both undergraduate and graduate classes and published and help publish several papers. Recently he was the president of the Delta of Texas Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

In his spare time he enjoyed following different soccer, basketball and football teams. He also found interest in music. His family remembers him as a loving and gentle man who will be greatly missed.

He has left to carry on his legacy in the heart of his wife of 24 years, Jenell Thomas-Locke; son, Darius Robinson; grandchildren, Kai and Zarius; sisters, Anne Locke and Mimi Arnett; brothers, Bill Locke (Janet), Jack Locke (fiancé, Paula), Terry (Sue); numerous nieces, nephews extended family, colleagues and dear friends.
