Service information is unavailable at this time. Please check later for service information.

Robert G. Bolfing, born in Lacy Lakeview, Texas May 30, 1922 to Robert Edward and Helen Pardo Bolfing was married 57 years to Mary Frances Pillow before she died in 2005. He is the beloved father of 10 children: Phil and Rose Anne Bolfing, Margaret Crowson, Pat Bolfing, Mike and Sheri Bolfing, Theresa and John Hall, Steve and Gloria Bolfing, David and Maria Bolfing, Tom Bolfing, Barbie and Brent Wicker, and Leisa and Jim Neumann. Papa B is mourned by 36 grandchildren, 29 Great grandchildren with 2 more coming. Papa met his first great-great grandchild in December of 2016 at a Christmas party attended by 5 generations. Bob is also survived by siblings, Margie Anderson and Helen Marie Pryor of Waco, their families and those of his deceased brothers, Gerald, Edward and Pat Bolfing.

Bob served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in 1945. A mechanical engineering class of 49 graduate of Texas A & M, Bob Bolfing was among the few who did not walk across the stage to receive his degree, leaving instead before the ceremony to go to work.

A 35 year career with Mobil started in the oil fields with Socony Vacuum, in Premont Texas and took Bob and young family to Midland, Houston, and Dallas. Frequent assignments in the North Sea, Iraq and Saudi Arabia as the head of Mobil Exploration and Production came during those busy years of raising a large family. After his retirement, the couple settled in Walden on Lake Conroe, a central location in Texas, where family could gather and Papa and Granny Franny could enjoy fishing, boating, golf and cruising with longtime friends. In each community, the Bolfings developed strong relationships based on their Catholic faith where parish activities were always a part of their service.
After leaving Mobil, Fran secured 'employment' for Robert G. Bolfing at Bolfing Brothers Marble Inc. in Cypress. Papa B, the beloved Chief Executive Officer of "Diddly Squat," was on the job for over 30 years, taking his responsibilities very seriously. At Goodson's they served him the Papa B's Special with extra tomatoes. Employees, vendors, and customers all loved our resident Aggie.
Volunteering to help establish the Montgomery County Right to Life Chapter of Texas Right to Life, the familiar face of Papa B appeared often in the Texas Right to Life Newsletter and the Bryan College Station Coalition for Life Newsletter.
Dad loved occasional hunting and fishing trips with friends, Lacy Lakeview reunions in Waco, pheasant hunts in Iowa, white tail hunts with sons, football and soccer games when grandsons played, dance recitals for grand-daughters and "get acquainted" visits with new grandchildren and great grandchildren. His greatest passion besides his only sweetheart was Texas A & M Football. Aggies in Kyle field parted the stands to help Papa B at age 92 get to his seat to cheer his grandson, # 97, Cody Wicker on the team.
For over 10 years, after we lost Granny Franny, Papa B continued to read his newspapers, grow tomatoes, water his lawn, enjoy his Walden neighbors and make the 45 minute drive to work in Cypress from Montgomery daily. He remained an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, until he became a resident of the Tomball Retirement Community and later Heights Nursing Home. Bob Bolfing lived a long healthy life and died on May 10, 2016 just short of his 94th birthday.
Pallbearers are the grandsons. The family appreciates Annie Sabourim whose ministry through St. Anne's brought Dad the Eucharist weekly.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to Montgomery County Right to Life, 266614 Oak Ridge Dr. The Woodlands Texas 77380. A scholarship for Texas Right to Life Fellows at Texas A & M will be established in his name.
Service times are still pending. Please leave a condolence for the family by signing the guest book.
