Nathan Rodgers McClellan(1964 - 2016)
MCCLELLAN, Nathan Rodgers Nathan R. McClellan passed away on May 4, 2016 at Coral Gables Hospital in Miami, FL at the age of 51. He was born August 27, 1964 to Woodie and Kathryn McClellan in Tulsa, OK. He graduated with his Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) degree from Texas A&M University in 1988. While at A&M, he became a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Pi Omicron Chapter. He then served as a Lieutenant aboard the U.S.S. Cleveland in the U.S. Navy and in the special boat unit with the Navy SEALs during Operation Desert Storm. After returning to Dallas and the finance sector, he earned his Executive MBA from Southern Methodist University in 2000. Nathan served as a Director for the Mid America Government and Institutional Banking Group for Regions Financial Corporation until his passing. Nathan was a lifelong jokester, a dedicated businessman, a loyal friend, and devoted father. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, smoking cigars, cooking with Cajun spice, and drinking good wine and scotch. He loved to make people smile. He did everything with an unparalleled passion for impacting people's lives. His honesty, grit, and warm nature will be missed by those who had the privilege to know him. Nathan is survived by his parents, his two daughters, Cathryn and Miranda, his step-daughter, Chastity Lovely, his sister and brother-in-law Rosa and Deryl Muhammad and their children, Omari, Brittni, Khabirah, Khadijah, Nisa, and Deryl Jr., his brother and sister-in-law Jonathan and Latasha McClellan and their daughter, Madison, his long-term partner Cathy Benjamin, and countless friends and colleagues. Public visitation will be held 3-9pm with a wake from 5-6:45pm on TODAY, May 12, 2016 at Evergreen Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. The funeral service will be held at Concord Baptist Church, 6808 Pastor Bailey Drive, Dallas, TX 75237 at 11am on Friday, May 13, 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association charity funds in his name. Mr. Vernon Omarr Smith, FDIC
